In our latest Shades of White style shoot, we wanted to give white the flowers it deserves. An all-white outfit can do things. It is not only for themed parties, but it can also be a solid style statement that you can consider adding to your closet. Many style moments can be created with monochromatic white, and if you are not into that, don’t stress. You can add your sparkle of colour to great texture and noise to any all-white outfit.
All white can create a chic and clean look; however, with any fashion statement, never forget that it must be authentically you because that’s when you can express the idea your way. If this means that you then create your definition of “all white” for you and your style, then so be it, girl, but the important thing is never to forget to try and experiment because it’s then that you discover new things about your style and adding all-white may just be it.
One thing about a good white clothing item, the possibilities are endless. You can dress it down for a casual look, or dress it up for a chic modern look. White can suit any event if you know how to make it work. This styled shoot was to showcase different forms of white and how White can be interpreted within your style, and whether you can create a monochromatic look or a touch of colour is needed. Also, realise there are different variations of the colour of whites and remember that you can incorporate this into your style.
Here are a few tips to help you tackle all shades of white:
Start with a solid base. There is nothing wrong with starting with a clean white shirt or pair of shorts as your base
Tip 1: Layer your white pieces
Do not be afraid to add extra pieces to your outfit. This could be adding a simple jewellery statement or a colourful heel.
Tip 2: A white dress shirt is a staple
If you are not sure where to start, a light all-white dress shirt is a great place. There are many variations so make sure when selecting something that works for your style and body type.
Tip 3: Do what works for you
The next tip would be to ensure that one understands how to work this style into their everyday closet, don’t do this just for special occasions because it creates variation in many ways to your everyday closet and personal style.
Tip 4: Maintain your white pieces
The last tip, maintain your white clothes. White clothes need to be cared for, and they will reciprocate the level of care given to them.
In this style, it was also important to show different variations of white and how it is interpreted because it is important that you are able to see yourself in one of these styles and if you can’t perhaps this gives you an idea to final add monochromatic in whatever form that may be to your style.
