A trailblazer is a person who is the first to do something; an innovator. This is a combination of two different words that form a new meaning. The words trail and blazer are combined. Trail means a mark or a series of signs or objects left behind by the passage of someone or something. A blazer is a clothing item that is usually worn in form situations. Blazers are also suitable for milestones in life such as weddings, graduations, meetings, and so forth. There is now a symbolic meaning that is associated with wearing a blazer. A blazer illustrates an important event, growth, responsibility, and maturity.
Old school blazers usually had a series of lines that crisscrossed throughout the silhouette. These lines would be in different colours such as red and black woven over a brown fabric. Our parents wore these blazers with pride because they showed that they were working members of society who took care of those around them. Such actions made them trailblazers of their times. This is the trail that those who came before took, the road that has never been taken. A brand new path that was before them.
Now it is our turn to become our own trailblazers. You become a trailblazer by being an active member of society who takes care of the community you live and function in. There is a certain responsibility that comes with being a trailblazer. So wear your blazer with pride and wake up every day knowing that you are a trailblazer because no one has walked the road that you are about to walk. Embark on this journey of life knowing that you are made of the heart and soul of the trailblazers that came before you.
